Arterial TOS
Arterial TOS is encountered when the subclavian artery is compressed in the region of the anatomical thoracic outlet. Patients with arterial TOS present with ischaemia of the arm and hand, and/or with petechial haemorrhages in the hand. Arteriograms in these cases may show stenosis of the subclavian artery at the level of the first rib, or they may show post-stenotic aneurysmal dilatation of the artery.
